Layouts finally

I finally created some layouts. I am so far behind on my scrapbooking, it's not even funny! Here are a few I have made recently. I made this soccer one for a black and white challenge. I still need to finish it up with some journaling, but hey the pictures are on a page.

This one is of my little Buccaneers superfan! The Rusty Pickle pirate princess paper is perfect for this layout and I finally used some of the grungeboard I've had forever. Inking over top of the grungeboard really brings the texture out. This next layout was just for fun. Ainsleigh has always been great at posing for pictures. I love her white sunglasses!

And finally a baby layout. Now you see how far behind I really I am.
It is so hard to find pictures that I can crop now that I am so used to using the zoom on my camera. Well, these are my most recent layouts. I need to get to work and create some more. It feels good to make some layouts again.

something different

Well, I have been making so many cards lately, I thought it was time I tried something a little different. This is a glass block night light I made for my daughter's room. I cut patterned paper and attached it to the back of the block, then I cut the chandelier from the new cricut home decor cartridge and placed it on the front. I put Christmas lights inside and finished it up with a big pink bow. I love how it turned out and can't wait to make more.

Hello Kitty

My Hello Kitty Greetings cricut cartridge arrived this weekend. It is the cutest cartridge ever! The pieces are very simple to put together. Every image can be cut as a card and there is a Hello Kitty for every season. Here is an example of a birthday card I made for one of my daughter's friends.
I also made a card out of the just Hello Kitty's face using the card feature. This one is so cute and extremely easy!

Last, but not least is one of the Holiday images. There is a Hello Kitty for every situation- birthday, Christmas, Halloween, graduation, bon voyage, get well, thank you, thinking of you, Valentine's day, friendship, and I'm sorry. This is my elf Hello Kitty that I will be using on a Christmas card.

Swaps are done!

I think it's time I take a little break from swaps. I did so many this month, I thougth I'd never finish! I am almost done. All that's left is Christmas tags and they should be fun. I have a lot of new stuff and I really just want to play around with it for a while and make some Christmas gifts. Here are my final swap projects. This first one is my Halloween layout. I changed it in my head so many times, and this is what I ended up with. I love owls so I thought it would be cute to use an owl in a Halloween situation.

The other projects I finally finished up were my calendar pages for November and July. The big square mat is where the calendar will go and the other mat is for a photo.

Wild Cards

I am having a lot of fun with the new cricut Wild Card cartridge. It creates the cutest shaped cards with matching envelopes. It is so simple to make really cute looking cards. Here are a few of the ones I have created so far. This one is the owl card. I love owls right now and they are everywhere in scrapbooking. The next one I worked on is the ornament card for Chrismas. This one is also very simple to make. I just cuttlebugged the top layer and it's done!

I have experimented wth 2 other cards so far and I can't wait to get to the rest of them. Here is my version of the house card. I think it is intended to be a house warming card, but I added a little and turned it into a gingerbread house for Christmas.

The last card I've made so far was the doily card. I made this one for a swap on my yahoo group cuttlebug card exchange. (come and join if you like making cards). This is for an exchange where we had to create a card with scalloped shapes on it. I threaded ribbon through the openings in the scallops and embossed a scalloped circle to be the background for the stamped image. In addition to all the cool cards and envelopes, this cartridge also has an entire alphabet as well as other shapes on it. It is a must have if you enjoy making cards with your cricut!

Happy Halloween!!

Here are some pictures of my favorite trick or treaters.

Cuttlebug spot challenge

Here is a card I made for the cuttlebug spot challenge using the swiss dots folder. I used the swiss dots on the background paper to imitate the dots on the winter house folder I used to be the scene inside the snow globe. I colored the house with colored pencils, stickled the snow and then mixed a little pearl ex with blue chalk and rubbed it in with a cotton ball for the sky. It's much more shimmery in person.

more and more swaps

Ok, here are a few more. I am not done yet, but all the rest are due in November. I made Fall themed birthday cards, June calendars, butterflies, tiggers, cards, and pumpkins. Sounds like fun doesn't it. It really was. It takes a lot of time, but it is worth it in the end when you get all your great stuff back in the mail. The butterflies are from the Storybook cartridge and the owl is a sizzlits die. My next challenge was to create a CD calendar page for the month of June. Nothing says June quite like penguins! I had to make orange shapes for another swap. Immediately I thought of pumpkins for Fall/Halloween. The tall pumpkin border is from Stretch Your Imagination and the other pumpkins are from Pooh and Friends. I still needed one more orange shape, so I decided on Tigger. He's orange, he's cute, he's tiggeriffic!! Last but not least, my purple birthday cards. I finally used the cards from Stretch Your imagination and it turned out really cute.

Why do I sign up for so many swaps? I love doing them, but I never get my own scrapbooking done anymore. Here is one of the swaps I am involved in this month. This is my mummy card for a Halloween card swap. Isn't he scary?

Halloween and fall projects

I've started working on Halloween and Fall themed projects. Here are a few cards I have made so far. I love using the new core'dinations paper in the Cuttlebug. I think the black sanded to reveal the purple core is perfect for Halloween cards. I'm working on a Thanksgiving card, but I haven't quite figured out how to finish it yet.

Mamma Mia

I love this movie! I have been a secret ABBA lover since I saw the movie Muriel's Wedding. My friends I loved to go home after a night out and have an ABBA dance party which would consist of us making up routines to all the songs. I will never forget when my friend Amy called me and said someone stole our idea- they're making a play of ABBA songs with dances. I saw the musical and couldn't wait for the movie. My daughter has been listening to ABBA since she was born and couldn't wait to see the movie either. I know it's PG-13, but it's hard to deny ABBA to a true fan. Anyway, it was great she loved it! We ended up seeing it again the next week and will definitely buy the DVD. If you are in a crappy mood, turn on some ABBA and see what happens. You can't be in a bad mood while listening to ABBA. So, I highly recommend that everyone go and see Mamma Mia! How could you resist it?

Swim meet

Ainsleigh had her last regular season swim meet this weekend. She has finally decided to listen to me and use her arms when she swims and what do you know- she's fast! Here is her freestyle race. She also finished first in breast stroke and second in back stroke.

Thinking About Crhistmas

I always have such great plans of sending out handmade Christmas cards. It rarely happens. Last year I did make 10-15 cards, but none of them made the mail. They were all given to teachers and coaches and no one had to go to the post office. I haven't had a stamp in this house since they were like .37.

Anyway, this year I am determined to do it. I have already made a Christmas card and it is early July. It's actually more winterly than Christmasy, but hey it's made! So here it is. I call it sledding polar bear. I hope to follow with many more and if these cards are lucky, they will make it into the envelope and into the hands of a friend or family member PRIOR to Christmas!

not very good at this

I am not much of a blogger. I guess it takes some getting used to. This ice cream stamp is one of the very first stamps I ever bought. I made this card with scraps, the cuttlebug, prisma pencils with gamsol, stickles for some glitter and a skittle cherry on top!

More cards

Here are some more. The first card was made with the cuttlebug puzzle die as a background. I left some spaces in between the pieces so that you can see the different pieces. I call this next one Happy Birthday to Ewe. This card uses the new coredinations black magic paper with a pink core. It looks so pretty after it's been sanded.

Recent Cards

Recently, I have been making a lot of cards. I don't know how I made cards before I had a cricut and a cuttlebug! Here a few of my new ones.
The cat card uses the Cuttlebug textile embossing folder and the cat is from the Stampin Up set Cool Cat.
The puppy card uses the cricut paper pups cartridge and a sizzix texturz plate in the Cuttlebug.
