A Bildmalarna Mother's Day

I hope all the mothers out there had a fantastic mother's day! I know I did. My little piggy made me breakfast, we went shopping, and then out to dinner. It was a very fun day. We are hosting a Mother's Day challenge on Bildmalarna Blog. I decided to use this adorable new stamp of Tossa and a swan that was included in the Summer Kit from Bildmalarna.

The entire kit was adorable and I can't wait to use all of them. If you love Bildmalarna stamps, you do not want to miss out on the kits. Anyway, for my Tossa and swan card, I used Cosmo Cricket designer paper as well as the new Cosmo Cricket core'dinations in neutral. I added some Prima flowers and a sentiment from Just Rite. To top off Tossa's beautiful swan, I added a little bit of stickles. A Tilda Scene

Our current challenge on the Magnolia Stamp Lovers blog is to create a scene using at least one Magnolia image. For my scene, I actually used three different Magnolia stamps and a process called masking which you may or may not be familiar with. I stamped my first image, Honey Tilda,


twice once on my neenah cardstock and once on a post it note. I then cut the image on the post it note out and stuck it directly on top of the image stamped on the cardstock. Then, I stamped my next image, Spring Fence, twice also. The first time I stamped it do that it was positioned so that Honey Tilda was sitting on the fence. I then stamped the fence on the posit note, cut it out, and placed it on top of the first stamped image. Now for my final image. I used a Magnolia flower image and stamped that on both sides of the fence. I then removed the masks and my scene was created! I colored the images in with my copic markers. I used paper from the Basic Grey Origins pack for my background paper. I made some paper flowers using the new Sizzix 3D flower die. You can create your own flowers out of papers that match your project so that you always have a flower that is just the right size. I made one of the larger flowers and two of the smaller ones. I put some branches cut with the Martha Stewart branch punch behind them. I used my just rite small alphabet to create the sentiment.

Some Bildy Inspiration

Bildmalarna stamps are making their way up the list of my favorite stamp companies. I love these little guys. We have a challenge blog called Bildy Blog where we are challenging and encouraging people to fall in love with these stamps and make something with them! The current challenge is to make a project inspired by this picture of my daughter's bedroom (just kidding). You can be inspired by the colors, the layout, whatever. I loved how graphic and clean looking this photo was, so that's the direction I went with my card.
I kept the layout basic and uncluttered just like the room in the photo. The stamp I used is Mimosa on the fence. I have colored her with copic markers and a little touch of atyou spicas for a little shine. The sentiment is from Just Rite and is cut out and mounted with nestabilities. Mimosa with Cupcakes

Well, I just got my first order of adorable Bildmalarna stamps in, and I love them. Yes the name is hard to say, but the stamps are too cute! Cindy is now carrying these babies at stamping scrapping!!! So, we have started a blog devoted to these adorable little stamps and have a color challenge posted. The blog is www.bildyblog.blogspot.com and the challenge is to create a card using the colors brown, pink, and turquoise. Three of my favorite colors! I created my card

using Mimosa with Cupcakes. I think she is absolutely adorable they have such sweet little faces. The paper I used is all scraps I found in my huge scrap pile so I have no idea what company it is from. I colored Mimosa with my copic markers- BG 13 and BG 15 for her pants, RV 11 and RV 14 for her shirt, E 37 for her shoes and sleeves, YR 23, E33, and Y21 for her hair, and E02, E000, YR000, and R20 for her skin. The sentiment is from Just Rite stamps.

Magnolia Stamp Lovers challenge

We are going to start posting biweekly challenges on the new Magnolia Stamp Lovers blog. It's always good to use your stamps and get ideas of what else you can do with them. I had the honor of hosting the first challenge. I picked a sketch. Here is a picture of the sketch. I felt this sketch was pretty straight forward and a good place to start. I decided to make a snowy card for my interpretation since we still have snow on the ground here. It's been over a week! I don't think we've ever had snow that has lasted this long at least not as long as I've lived here.Anyway, here is my Chilly Tilda card.

I used Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper which I think is perfect for this little Tilda since she is bundled up like and eskimo. I colored her with copics- R39 for her pants and hat, BG000 and BG 10 for her jacket and mittens, G24 for her dress, E33 and E35 for her boots, E21, E00, E000, and R20 for skin and E17 for her hair. I used polar white flower soft for the trim on her coat and hat. The sentiment is from Just Rite. All supplies to make this card can be found at stampingscrapping.com.

Happy Father's Day

Well, today is father's day, so it's only fitting that I post the father's day card I made. It was a very different experience making a masculine card. I'm so used to making girly Tilda cards with

lot of pink and flowers. For this card, I used Edwin who is the male version of Tilda. I also used some boyish papers I had in the Die Cuts with a View Safari Kids pack. This type of card is called a shutter card (I think) and it's really easier to make than it looks. I typed a tutorial and placed it on the Stamping Scrapping Design Team Blog if you are interested. I colored Edwin and his dog with my copics. The sentiment came from the Just Rite All Occasions set

I had a lot of fun making this card and love that it looks as good opened up as it does when it's shut. I hope everyone has a great father's day!

Coffee Time

In case some of you didn't know, I LOVE coffee. I love the taste, the smell, the caffeine- it's all good. I thought I would share a few of my favorite coffee themed projects in honor of a special sale going on at stampingscrapping.com. I wanted this card to resemble a coffee mug with the sleeve on it. I used core'diantions cardstock for the base and embossed it with one of the new

quickutz embossing folders. They work just like the Cuttlebug folders do. For the sleeve, I took some more core'dinations and embossed it with the distressed stripes Cuttlebug folder. I then sanded both pieces of cardstock to bring the embossing out a little more. I stamped the sentiment from the new justrite a little caffeine set, colored the mug with a copic marker, and cut it out with a label 2 nestabilitie. To finish off this coffee card, I added the coffee card scent which is on sale this week at stampingscrapping.com for only $2.75. This scent is a must for a any coffee project and goes perfectly with this just rite set. This next card also uses the just rite

caffeine set for the sentiment. This set is really cool because if you use it with the border like I did in the first card, it uses the 2 inch block, but if you take the border off and just use the center like I did above, it will fit perfectly on the 1 5/8 inch circle block you probably already have. I used lattebella for this card and colored her with copics to match the paper (Bo Bunny). The saying from just rite fit perfectly in my circle nestabilitie. When it was all assembled, I added some scent put it in a clear envelope and it was ready to go! Octagons

What do you think of when you think of octagons? Stop signs right? They are just so frequently associated with octagons, it's hard to think of anything else. Well spellbinders has recently released octagon nestablilities. As part of our Stamping Scrapping design team duties, we were
given a set of the octagon nestabilities to see what we could come up with.

This is what I came up with. The first card used a Magnolia Tilda image (my new favorites). She is colored with copic markers. I stamped the setiment from just rite on one of the smaller octagons and matted it with one of the larger ones. The circular shape works well with the octagons. For my second card, I used the octagons for the gorguss girl and her little chick to sit on. They are both the same size, I just layered them unevenly to try and create more interest. So, what do you think, did I break the stop sign mold?

Girls Night is Just Rite

Well, the new Just Rite stamp sets have started arriving at www.stampingscrapping.com. I just received my new Girl Time set last week. These stamps are awesome for making cards or invitations for all your fabulous girlfriends. I couldn't wait to play with them!For this card, I stared with the doily card from the Cricut Wild Card cartridge. I then cut a circle from George out of patterned paper to layer over the card. The sentiment is from Just Rite. It is more hot pink in person. ( I know it looks a little red in the picture) After I stamped it, I cut it out with a circle nestabilitie and then matted it with a scalloped circle nestie out of pink cardstock. To glam up this girls night out card, I topped it with some ribbon and petaloo flowers. Now, I just need to set up a girls night out so my card won't go to waste!

Scrappy Frog

This is the card I made for the Scrappy Frog challenge at www.scrappyfrogschallenge.blogspot.com. The challenge was to create a project based around food, recipes, or cooking.

I have had this stamp set laying around from when Ainsleigh had a birthday party at Young Chef's Academy a few year's ago. I thought the big chef's hat and oven mit would look great stamped on patterned paper. If you have never heard of Scrappy Frog that is because it is brand new. Froggy and I just created it. The blog will have bi-weekly challenges of various themes and best of all- prizes! The first prize is a set of rock a blocks from www.stampingscrapping.com. So, make your food/recipe inspired project and head on over to scrappy frog and post it for your chance to win. The only stipulation is that the project must include a stamped image. The chef's hat and oven mit in my card are from Close to My Heart and the bon appetit is from Just Rite. The paper and cardstock is also from Close to My Heart.

House Mouse Challenge

This is the card I created for the weekly House Mouse Challenge on http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com this week's challenge was to use chipboard on a card.

I used chipboard for the brackets on the side. The stamp is house mouse of course and it is colored with copics and a few prismacolor markers. I also scented this card to make it smell like coffee. The sentiment on the side is from just rite. I forgot to take a picture of the markers, but I think I can remember them all- the mice are E35 and the sand color prisma marker. Their tails, faces, and feet are E00 and E02. The insides of their ears are RV11. The bag is R27 and shaded with R29. The blue label is B21 and the words are B21 and Y17. The coffee beans are sand and mocha prisma markers.

Sketch card

Ok, I am trying to do more challenges to help me break out of my card making rut. I have found all kinds of challenges online- color challenges, sketch challenges, challenges for using certain products, there are all kinds. I feel like I do the same thing over and over again when I make cards. So, here is a sketch I found on the sketches by tamara blog (http://sketchesbytamara.blogspot.com/). Here is my version of the sketch. I used Close to My Heart paper and a clear stamp that I had laying around. I have no idea where it came from, sorry. The present is colored with copics and I have to say the bow doesn't look so bright in real life. It is more like a periwinkle than bright blue. The sentiment is from the just rite birhtday set.

Mini Mailbox # 1

I love making these little mailboxes from Target. You can fill them with chocolate or other goodies and they are the perfect teacher or coach's gifts. This is one I made for a design team challenge. I used core'dinations cardstock on this one. I embossed it with the cuttlebug divine swirls folder and then sanded it to let the core show through. The flowers on the little flag are petaloo and the heart in the middle I found in the Valentine section of Hobby Lobby. I cut the Love from Home Accents and then stamped the words on it with a Close to My Heart stamp. The little "chocolate" heart in the middle also came from the Valentine section of Hobby Lobby. This is the end of the mailbox. I used the chocolate box core'dinations paper and embossed it with the heart block folder then sanded it to show the pink core. I cut circles with the nestabilities for the sentiment. The Eat Lots of Chocolate comes from the Just Rite Christmas set it works for Valentine's Day also! After I stamped it, I embossed it with swiss dots. Just a note, when you use only the center of the just rite stamps, I found it works best with markers instead of an ink pad. This is the other side of the mailbox- more delicious chocolate hearts. These are actually wooden and they stick to the mailbox great with a coupl of glue dots. I have a ton of these, so I should have more up soon!

Just Rite Stamps

I finally got some just rite stamps and have had a lot of fun playing around with them. I got the Christmas set on Christmas eve, so I haven't made many Christmas things with it, but there was one stamp I thought I might be able to use for something else. So, I took the eat lots of chocolate stamp and used it for a Valentines card. All of the borders were too Christmasy, so I left it off and used the embossing from the nestabilitie as the border instead. When you sand the embossing, the white core really makes it more noticeable.

The next set I wanted to play with was the ovals. I got the birthday set and thought the stamp with the candles would be perfect on a card with lots of candles. Where would I find a card like that? I looked through the Wild Card manual and thought the Hanukkah card would probably work. Here is what I came up with. What do you think? Can it pass as a birthday card?The next card I made was just a fun card. I used a Stamping Bella image and colored her in with colored pencils and a little mineral spirits. I found some houndstooth ribbon that works perfectly with the houndstooth cuttlebug folder. I think I will add some of my coffee card scents to this one.
