Shadowbox Tilda

We have a new challenge happening over on the Magnolia Stamp Lovers Blog. The challenge is to make a card with some dimension. I decided to try a different type of card this time and made a shadowbox card. I used an adorable new Tilda from the fairytale collection called Elf Tilda.

I have had this large Magnolia mushroom stamp for some time and when I saw the Elf Tilda, I knew she would be perfect for sitting on it. I stamped Elf Tilda, then put a mask over her and stamped the mushroom. I colored both images in with my copic markers. I used paper from the Die Cuts With a View Green stack. I decorated the top layer of the card with some crochet flowers and added some pearl brads to the center. I also added a bow (tied with the bow easy) and the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment Have a Fairy Nice Day in the center of one of the outline shapes from the Label Accents set and then cut it out with my labels 4 nestie. I love how easily these sentiments work with the nesties. Here is a picture of the card that better shows the dimension of the card.

We would love to have some more players for our challenge, so if you get a chance, please come over to Magnolia Stamp Lovers and add your dimensional card.

A Recipe Challenge

Our current challenge over on Magnolia Stamp Lovers is to create a recipe inspired project using Magnolia images. Well, I don't have a lot of recipes and I really don't cook, so I was pretty stumped on this one. So, I came up with this card using Fairytale Tilda.

I call it the recipe for the perfect man. I stamped fairytale Tilda, then masked her and stamped the background. I stamped the recipe card and wrote my "recipe" on it for the sentiment. I then added some crochet flowers and and bow tied with my bow easy.

The copic colors used in this card are as follows
Frog- G85 and G82, Grass and stems- YG63 and YG67, Sky- B0000 and B000, Dress R85, R83, R81, Tulips RV14, R32, Hair- E37, E35, E31, Skin- E02, YR000, E000, E0000, R20

Snow White Tilda

The new Magnolia Fairytale collection stamps are adorable!!! I received my spring kit and I love every one of them. If you haven't seen them all, you need to check them out here. I made this card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge this week. Here is a picture of the sketchAnd here is a picture of the card I made. I used the new Tilda with Apple stamp and because of her resemblance to Snow White, I colored her to look like Snow White.

This is the first time I have ever colored black hair. I had to practice a little, but in the end I think it turned out ok. I stamped the Tilda first, then masked her and stamped the background. I used Basic Grey June Bug paper and added a bow I made using my bow easy.

Tilda in purple

Our newest challenge over on Magnolia Stamp Lovers is to create a project using the color purple and a Magnolia image. The winner will receive either a free stamp from stampingscrapping.com or a gift certificate in the amount of the stamp (international winners). I don't use a lot of purple in my projects, so this was somewhat of a challenge for me.

I decided to use Princess Tilda and color her dress in a variety of purple shades with some pink accents. I found this adorable castle background stamp on My Graphico and knew it would be the perfect background for this princess. What princess wouldn't want to live in a beautiful pink and green castle? I added a bow made with my bow easy and some purple roses to finish the card off.

Bildmalarna Challenge 4

Our current Bildmalarna challenge is to use the color combination of green, yellow, and brown. Well, I have some new paper from Basic Grey called Origins that was just begging to be used for this challenge. The image I used this time is the adorable little stamp called Mimosa Cafe. She looks so cute sitting drinking a coffee and daydreaming. I colored Mimosa with my copic markers. The greens are G14 and G16, the yellow is Y04 and Y02, the browns are E37 and E 35. Her hair is E09, and E07, for her skin I used E02, YR000, E000 and R20 for her cheeks. I paper pieced her dress with a piece of the paper I used for the background. The flowers are white silk

flowers from the craft store pulled off their stems, put back together with a brad, and sprayed with green glimmer mist. I then punched some leaves out of the brown craft paper and the dark green paper from the Origins pack. Next I added the sentiment miss you a latte and cut it out with my labels 2 nestie. The sentiment is from the stamp set Java Happy Day. To finish the card off, I added some ribbon and a bow. Now, you may be saying to yourself, "wow that bow looks great!". That is because I have found my favorite new product in a long long time, the Bow Easy. This little guy is AWESOME. It enables you to tie perfect bows every time. You can tie several different sizes and you can add as many loops as you would like . I made a 2 loop bow for this card. Now the best part- it is only $4.99!!!!! Finally, I think I may start to make a dent in the ridiculous amount of ribbon I have.

Please join us in the Bildmalarna challenge over on the Bildmalarna Blog and you could win the adorable new Easter Bunny stamp!!! It's a cute one!!!
