Just Buggin Go Green

This week our challenge was to create something green for St. Patrick's Day. I thought I would try and use one of the adorable princesses found on the Once Upon a Princess cartridge and turn her into some kind of St. Patrick's Day Fairy (those exist don't they?). I just a pack of some cool shimmer paper from Die cuts with a view and that is what I used for all of the princess (fairy)

except her skin. I put a shamrock on her wand and added a shamrock hat from Designers Calendar. The card base is cut from A Child's Year (this cartridge is full of fun card bases for all occasions) and I used the Bazzil swiss dots cardstock for that and put some more of the green shimmer paper behind the shamrock cut outs. I gave the princess some wiggly eyes, with eyelashes of course, and stamped a nose and mouth from my peach keen face sets. Just Buggin Spring Blog Hop

We are having a Spring Blog Hop on Just Buggin to showcase some fun spring projects the design team has created. You should have ended up here from Hope's Blog, if not you can head back to Just Buggin and start from the beginning. I just had to use my new Easter Mini cart on this

project. This cartridge has some great images on it and Cindy has it at Stamping Scrapping for only $ 19.99. It has so many cute and fun images that are both Eastery and Springy. The pig is from My Community, I added some bunny ears from Paper Doll Dress up. His basket and eggs are from Doodlecharms. All of the other cuts are from the new Easter mini cartridge. I think the lamb and the chick are absolutely adorable.

Just Buggin- Emboss It

This week's Just Buggin challenge is to emboss your die cuts. I love using my cuttlebug along with my cricut. I decided to make a little gift bag from the new cartridge Once Upon a Princess.

This cartridge is full of great stuff. I cut the gift bag and then embossed it with my Cuttlebug harlequin folder and lightly sanded it to bring the pattern out a little more. This gift bag also cuts coordinating handles in the shape of bows which are adorable. I added a little bit of bling in the middle for excitement. Then I cut the sentiment and the gift. I embossed the top layer with my swiss dots folder. If you love die cuts and you love embossing, you need to get over to Just Buggin and show us what you can come up with!

Just Buggin- Black and White

This week's challenge over at Just Buggin is to create a black and white project. You can mix in one other color if you need to. Of course, I needed to so I added a little bit of pink to mine. I cut the silhouette of the woman from Forever Young. I then cut one layer of her dress in pink so

that it would show through the cut out polka dots. I trimmed the dress with a little bit of frosted lace stickles. I used some leopard print paper from glitz that is black and white with a little bit of pink mixed in. On the side I added some black pom pom trim and some pearls. The sentiment ooh la la is also cut using from forever young using the tag feature and layered in black and white. The current challenge on Just Buggin is to create a 3-D object. I decided to use the new Lovestruck cartridge and create one of the cute little mailboxes on it. I used a variety of

cartridges on this one. The mailbox itself is cut from Lovestruck. I used Bazzil swiss dots cardstock to cut the base. Then I added pattern paper to the sides. The goddess cat on the front

is cut from Paisley. I think all cats want to wear a crown and sit on a pink glittery pillow! On one side I cut XoXo also from the Paisley cartridge. The other side features the phrase love mew

which I cut from Lyrical letters and welded it together with my gypsy. The mailbox cuts at a great size to fill with candy when you cut it at fit to page with the 12 x 12 mat.

Just Buggin- Love Ya

For this week's Just Buggin challenge, I decided to try a new type of card that I hadn't made before. It's called a wiper card. You can find a tutorial for this type of card here. So, the theme of this challenge is Love Ya- to create a Valentine's themed project. I used the adorable zebra

driving a card cut from the Paisley cartridge. The background is a new Cuttlebug folder that looks like mini conversation hearts. I sanded it to bring out the embossing. I placed this sassy little zebra on a pink a black road. Wouldn't it be fabulous if the lines on the middle of the road were pink? This is what the card looks like closed. I added the cute little conversation hearts that are on the love struck cartridge on the front of the

card and also on the little wiper that pops up when you open the card. I also stamped a sentiment and added some zebra striped ribbon. We would love to see your Valentine's Projects, so show us what you've made and join us at Just Buggin.

Just Buggin- All About Food

The current Just Buggin challenge is all about food. Well, since I have 3 family birthdays in Februay, I decided that my food challenge would be a birthday card with cupcakes. I love the look of simple cards, but when I try to make a simple one, I never like it. So, I decided to go back to the basics and only use cardstock on this project. I cut the cupcakes from Sweet Treats

and mixed up the three colors so there was a little of each color on every cupcake. I cut the sentiment from Beyond Birthdays and added a little pink ribbon at the top of the card. Just Buggin- Monochromatic

Our Just Buggin challenge this week was the create a monochromatic card. This was extremely difficult for me. I love using color and lots of it, sticking to just one was like torture. I used the new Lovestruck cartridge to create this card. The hear kind of reminds me of zebra stripes a little bit I used a lighter shade of red on top of the darker red base. The word flirt also comes from Lovestruck. I dotted the I with a little red rhinestone and added some

glitter. The background is a cuttlebug folder sanded to show the lighter red core of the cardstock (coredinations was great for this project). I finished it off with a little red rose. Friend Card

I got the new Pagoda cartridge for Christmas and I was dying to try it out.  I thought it would work perfectly for the current Just Buggin challenge to use the shadow or blackout feature on your die cut.

The panda, umbrella, and kanji character are all cut from the Pagoda cartridge.  I added a shadow to the panda and the character which actually means friend.  What's more friendly than a cute panda holding a pink umbrella?  I embossed the umbrella with my cuttlebug to make it look like it had a pattern on it.  I used the same embossing folder ( I think it's moroccan screen or something like that) over on the side.  I thought this green paper would go well with the panda because it reminded me of bamboo.  I finished the card off with some ribbon and of course googly eyes for the panda.  We would love to see what you can come up with for this challenge.  Head over to Just Buggin and link your project before Wednesday!!!!

Just Buggin Layers Challenge

I made this card for the Just Buggin layers challenge. The challenge was to use at least two die cuts and layer them together. (for instance, cut out flowers in two different sizes and layer them on top of each other, two snowflakes, etc) I think I kind of messed up on this one a little bit. I layered my mushroom on top of the shadow feature of the same diecut. When you use the shadow feature on your diecuts, it really grounds them and helps them to stand out against the background. For the main part of this card, I cut paper into squares and laid them out like a patchwork. The mushroom is from Tinkerbell and Friends. The sentiment so happy is from Stamping Scrapping.com she has a lot of new sentiment stamps designed to correspond perfectly with the nestabilities.
