Trick or Treat

I've been spending a lot of time trying to get my scrapbook room organized and put everything in a place that makes sense. In doing that, I've become reacquainted with things I haven't used in a while or, even worse, forgot I had. I found this little Tilda holding a pumpkin and knew I wanted to color her. 

She's so cute and perfect for Halloween time. I colored her with copic markers to match the colors in my favorite My Mind's Eye paper. It's hard because the colors in the paper are so muted. I matted the image with a couple of rectangle nestabilities and then finished the card off with a Cutters Creek gardenia.

I guess it's time to put my Halloween images and paper up for another year. I've had a lot if fun playing with some old friends. 

Valentine's Gift Box

For my Stamping Scrapping project this week, I have decided to make a Valentine's gift box. This box was cut from the cricut mini cartridge Lovestruck. The box cuts a really good size when you use the fit to page feature on the cricut expression, the finished product is a little over 4 x 6 1/2. This size is perfect for Valentine's goodies or as a box for cards. The box does cut a little heart out of the front. I put a small sheet of acetate inside the box behind the heart. If you have design studio or a gypsy, I bet you could change the heart to another shape and use the box for more holidays.

Now onto the materials I used to make my little goody box. I decorated it with Magnolia stamps from the new Raising the Ceiling/Right through my Heart collection that is available now for pre-order on Stamping Scrapping.com. On the top is Dangling Tilda, I have colored her with copic markers. She is hanging from the new stamp Elegant Heart Ribbon. I had to cheat on this one a little bit, to make it look like her hand is going around the ribbon, I cut the top part of her hand off and then glued it back on top of the ribbon. The other sweet little Tilda I used is called Love Sealing Tilda. She is also colored with copics. The shades of pink I used on both of them are a combination of RV10, RV13, and RV14. To finish the box off, I added some lace, a little heart embellishment (this is actually an ornament for mini Valentine's tree and I cut the string off the top), and a petaloo flower. Cindy has great deal on the petaloos, they are on clearance, so get them before they are gone. The final element to my gift box is the sentiment which comes from my favorite sentiment set, Label Accents, this set has a sentiment for nearly every occasion and is made to fit perfectly inside the nestabilities.

Magnolia Stamp Lovers- Buttons and Bows

Our current challenge on Magnolia Stamp Lovers is to use buttons and/or bows on your project. Buttons and bows can be so cute, so I knew I had to use a really cute Tilda on this project. This

adorable little Tilda is called Sweet Tilda and she will be available to order soon on Stamping Scrapping. I have colored her with my copics- R 85, R83, and R81 for her dress, E35, YR23, and Y21 for her hair, E02, YR000, E000, R20 for skin, and E49 for her shoes. The card base if from the cricut cartridge wild card and I wove ribbon through the scallops. I finished it off with various pink buttons and not really bows, but knots. I'm not super good at bows, so I went with the safer option and just did knots.

House Mouse and Friends Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and welcome to our first House Mouse and Friends Blog Hop!!! I have the honor of being the first stop this time around. This is an exciting new adventure for the Design Team and to celebrate it, Cindy the owner of Stamping Scrapping is donating the House Mouse stamp you crack me up and the jellybean scent my cards as a prize.

For our projects, we have all used the new House Mouse Love Letter stamp which is the January House Mouse stamp of the month. I have colored my cute little guy with my copic markers. I used warm greys (W3 and W5) for his fur.

I colored his little love note and the gift with RV 10 and RV 14 to coordinate with my background paper. The sentiment - Love You is also included with the stamp when you purchase the stamp of the month. I accented the lips with some pink chalk to give them a little color.

Mimosa with Cupcakes

Well, I just got my first order of adorable Bildmalarna stamps in, and I love them. Yes the name is hard to say, but the stamps are too cute! Cindy is now carrying these babies at stamping scrapping!!! So, we have started a blog devoted to these adorable little stamps and have a color challenge posted. The blog is www.bildyblog.blogspot.com and the challenge is to create a card using the colors brown, pink, and turquoise. Three of my favorite colors! I created my card

using Mimosa with Cupcakes. I think she is absolutely adorable they have such sweet little faces. The paper I used is all scraps I found in my huge scrap pile so I have no idea what company it is from. I colored Mimosa with my copic markers- BG 13 and BG 15 for her pants, RV 11 and RV 14 for her shirt, E 37 for her shoes and sleeves, YR 23, E33, and Y21 for her hair, and E02, E000, YR000, and R20 for her skin. The sentiment is from Just Rite stamps.

Magnolia Stamp Lovers challenge

We are going to start posting biweekly challenges on the new Magnolia Stamp Lovers blog. It's always good to use your stamps and get ideas of what else you can do with them. I had the honor of hosting the first challenge. I picked a sketch. Here is a picture of the sketch. I felt this sketch was pretty straight forward and a good place to start. I decided to make a snowy card for my interpretation since we still have snow on the ground here. It's been over a week! I don't think we've ever had snow that has lasted this long at least not as long as I've lived here.Anyway, here is my Chilly Tilda card.

I used Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper which I think is perfect for this little Tilda since she is bundled up like and eskimo. I colored her with copics- R39 for her pants and hat, BG000 and BG 10 for her jacket and mittens, G24 for her dress, E33 and E35 for her boots, E21, E00, E000, and R20 for skin and E17 for her hair. I used polar white flower soft for the trim on her coat and hat. The sentiment is from Just Rite. All supplies to make this card can be found at stampingscrapping.com.

A Magnolia Piggy Card

When I saw this Magnolia stamp, I knew I just had to have it. My daughter's nickname is Piggy, my blog is called Scrappy and Piggy, it was a no brainer! So, here is the card I made with this adorable stamp Tilda with piglet. Also, have you heard the news that stampingscrapping.com is

now selling Magnolia stamps? Her prices are awesome!!!! For this card I used the Eskimo Kisses paper pack from Basic Grey. It has some great colors in it. Tilda and her adorable piggy are colored with copic markers. The sentiment is from Cindy's awesome new nestie friendly sentiment stamps. They fit perfectly within the embossed area of a nestabilitie. On this one I chalked the outside edge to make it look a little more layered. Christmas Candles

I created these adorable House Mouse Christmas candles as my Design Team project for Stamping Scrapping. They are very easy to do and make a really cute Christmas decoration.

I have seen this done a few different times on the internet and finally decided that I needed to give it a try. It's actually a very simple procedure. To get started, you will need a few basic supplies, plain white tissue paper, a white candle, ink, markers, a stamp, wax paper, and a heat

gun. The first step is to stamp your image on the tissue paper. If you look carefully you will see there is a shiny and a flat side to the tissue paper. Stamp and color on the shiny side. I stamped my image in memento and colored it in with copics. The tissue paper is thin, so I suggest putting a sheet of white paper underneath the tissue paper to protect whatever surface you are coloring on. After you are finished coloring your image, you need to cut it out (carefully the tissue paper is really thin) leaving as little tissue paper around the image as possible. Then get your candle and put a small strip of double stick tape on the candle where you want your image to be. Stick the image on and wrap wax paper all the way around the candle leaving extra in the back to hold on to. Then you get your heat gun and move it around melting the image into the candle. You will see the image get a little shiny the tissue paper "disappearing". Be careful not to overheat and start melting the candle. I haven't tried this yet on colored candles to see how it works, but I

think I will soon since it was so easy. I got my candles at the dollar store. My daughter loved this idea and she wanted to make one herself. She colored the little guy on the right with the all red hat. When doing this project with kids, I wouldn't let them hold the candle while it's getting heated. It can get pretty hot especially on the small candles since there really isn't enough room to get your hand out of the way. So, there you go some adorable House Mouse Christmas candles. Time for Fall

I had a lot of fun doing Christmas cards, but I need to try and mix in a few fall/Thanksgiving cards as well. This image is from the Magnolia So Spooky collection and is called witch Tilda with pumpkins, however, to me her witch hat looks a little smooshed almost like a pilgrim hat. So, I am using her for Thanksgiving cards. I colored her with some fall colors and cut her into a tag. I added a little of the Autumn flowersoft to make it look like she was sitting in a pile of fall leaves. I matted the tag on some orange paper embossed with the pumpkin harvest folder. Then I added a sentiment, colored a petaloo flower with my orange copic to make it match and finished it off with an acorn in the center. So, what's the verdict- pumpkin or witch? I will be using this card for the cuttlebug spot fall card challenge this week.

Christmas Cards Already?

I know it's probably a little early to start posting the Christmas projects, but I just really loved the way these two turned out. I decided to make 2 different versions of the same card. One more vintage and traditional looking and one that was a little more playful. Nearly all the supplies used on these cards can be found at StampingScrapping.com For this first one, the vintage card, I used Basic Grey Wassail paper and the vintage Christmas flowersoft. I have to

admit I bought this stamp because I thought the wreath would be perfect for the flowersoft and I think it turned out really well. I colored the image with copic markers then I cut it out with labels 4 nestabilitie and chalked the edges with some shimmery gold chalk. I added the vintage christmsas flowersoft to the wreath. I went over the bright white lace with some distress ink to make it blend in more with the rest of the card and finished it off with some felt snowflakes. Here is a close up of the wreath so that you can see the texture of the flowersoft. It's very realistic looking.

This is my second version of the card, the more playful version. I used Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly paper for this card. I used the same layout and image for the card. This time I colored the Tilda in brighter colors. I also used something different on the wreath this time. Here is a closer

look at the wreath. I used Irish Green sparkly fluff flock on the wreath this time so that it would coordinate better with the papers. This stuff is really cool. It is flock with a little sparkle thrown

in. It is hard to see the sparkle in the picture, but it's there. I also added some cotton candy flock to the trim and the pompom of her hat. This time I left the lace white and added a couple of flowers to finish off the card. I had a lot of fun with these cards and I'm excited to get a head start on my Christmas cards!

Spooooky Halloween Card

Well, it's not actually that spooky, but it is a Halloween Card. I call this one Witchy Tilda. I colored Tilda with my copic markers to match the Basic Grey Eerie paper. The really cool thing I did to this card does not show up at all in the photo, so I will need to do it on another card soon. I distressed the edges of the image with distress ink and then painted over the entire image with the new Tim Holtz rock candy paint to make it look crackled. It did actually look really cool in person.

A Spooky Halloween Card

In my mind Summer is over and I've moved on to fall. The kids here have been in school for 3 weeks already. So, I have decided to get a head start on Halloween projects. Since it is my weekend to make a design team project for Stamping Scrapping, I decided this was the perfect time.
I just got this adorable vampire Edwin stamp and I had to use him on something. I took my Cuttlebug embossing folder of the haunted house and inked up the raised side of the folder with black ink and a brayer, then I put my white cardstock on top of that with 2 shims and both the B plates. I did not fold the folder over, I left it open if that makes any sense at all. Then I colored in the uninked spots with my copic markers. Edwin is colored with copics as well. To decorate the side of the card, I used the Martha Stewart drippy goo punch. This punch is awesome for Halloween projects and so much more. If you want one, go here ASAP. Cindy has already sold out of this punch once, she now only has 8 left from this order so jump on it! I also used one of the new Cuttlebug border folders for the diamond embossed strip. This was done with the black magic core'dinations paper with a green core to add to the spooky feel of the card. I finished it off with the trick or treat sentiment from the Scent my Cards Best Witches set available on stampingscrapping.com and trimmed the mat with the drippy goo punch also. All that's left is to make it smell as much like Halloween as it looks, so I added some black licorice scent my cards and it is ready to go!

Some Fun New Stamps

Cindy, the owner of Stamping Scrapping now has her own line of stamps. The fist 4 sets to be released feature different kinds of drinks like coffee, tea, margaritas, and martinis to name a few. Margaritas and coffee just happen to be 2 of my favorite things. The design team has been given a preview set work with and design a few projects. These are 2 I have come up with so far. This first one is a gate fold card featuring the tea pot found on one of the sets. I stamped the teapot with another background stamp I had to give it a pattern. I also added a Kaiser Craft pearl to the top for some bling. The sentiment, is from the same stamp set. I love how all the sets have sentiments that go along with what type of drinks are in the set. I mounted the teapot on some label nestabilities and added a flower for a finishing touch. This next one is a lot of fun. It uses the margarita glass found on one of the sets.I colored the margarita with a lime green copic to give ita more authentic appearance. The lime is from another of Cindy's sets. The cool thing is, they are designed to work with each other, so you can mix and match them to create all kind of cool things. Now, in my opinion, a margarita just isn't a margarita without salt on the rim. Sometimes you gotta have a little salt and since it's not acceptable to lick it off the table, the side of a margarita glass is the perfect solution. Here is a close up of the salted rim and the lime. I used frosted lace stickles for the salt and I think it looks pretty realistic. I used some liquid glass on the lime to make it seem wet. The other cool things about these stamps sets is that Cindy has card scents that coordinate with them perfectly so your cards can smell as great as they look. Oh Say Can You See Blog Hop

'I'I'm so glad you could join the Scrapbook News and Review Blog Hop today. If you came from Jennifer's blog then you are on the right track! If you didn't you may want to hop on over to SNR Cardiverse and start from the beginning. So, this is my contribution to the blog hop today. My red, white, and blue card features an adorable stamp from Sugar Nellie. I just received in one of their grab bags and fell in love with it. What a sweet image. I colored the little girl with copic markers. To make the tricycle seem more realistic, I colored it with my red smooch paints to give it a metallic sheen. It is a little hard to tell in the picture, so I included a close up of the tricycle. I also used the white smooch on the handlebar grips and the little square in the middle of the handlebars. I think it really added a more realistic look to the triclycle. The smooch

paints are extremely easy to use on stamped images since the brush is so fine, you can get in all the small areas and not have to worry about going out of the lines. I added a little of the copic spica glitter pens to the flowers on her shirt and the patches on her jeans to give her just a little more bling. Arrrgh

This card is for the new challenge on Scrappy Frog which is titled "Arrrgh". We decided we would to see what everyone could do using the same digital background from Dustin Pike. A link to the background can be found on the Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog. I made a gate fold card so that I could get the background big enough for my stamped pirates. This is the outside of the card. One side of the polka dot paper lifts up and it opens out flat.

This is a picture of the inside when it is folded out. The background is in the middle with the two pirates (Ian and Anya from The Greeting Farm) and the sides feature a parrot and a treasure chest. This card uses a little bit of everything on it.The background and the barrel the parrot is sitting on are digital images from Dustin Pike printed out on my computer.

The parrot itself is from Cornish Heritage Farms along with the arrgh sentiment. I drew the treasure chest on my cricut using the cricut markers and the treasure chest from the Life Is A Beach cartridge. I then cut it and colored it with my copic markers to match the rest of the project. I then added some adhesive rhinestones to make it look like jewels spilling out of it.

If I am ever caught by pirates, I hope it's cute pirates like these too with a pink and black pirate ship and pink parrots flying around. Although, pirate Tilda didn't look too mean either these two look like they have a better ship.

A Little Bit of Purple

Purple is not a color I use a lot of. I went through a time when I was younger when I loved purple, but lately it's kind of at the bottom of the list. So when I saw the Basic Grey Wisteria paper, I knew I should get it and force myself to use some purple. I kind of cheated a little and used a lot of green, but the purple is there. I like the way it turned out, and I may even try making a few more cards with purple.

Happy Father's Day

Well, today is father's day, so it's only fitting that I post the father's day card I made. It was a very different experience making a masculine card. I'm so used to making girly Tilda cards with

lot of pink and flowers. For this card, I used Edwin who is the male version of Tilda. I also used some boyish papers I had in the Die Cuts with a View Safari Kids pack. This type of card is called a shutter card (I think) and it's really easier to make than it looks. I typed a tutorial and placed it on the Stamping Scrapping Design Team Blog if you are interested. I colored Edwin and his dog with my copics. The sentiment came from the Just Rite All Occasions set

I had a lot of fun making this card and love that it looks as good opened up as it does when it's shut. I hope everyone has a great father's day!

Piggy's Card

Well, the title of my blog is Scrappy and Piggy. I am the scrappy part and my daughter is the piggy part, her nickname has been Piggy since she was a baby. Well, she loves making cards and coloring stamps as much as I do, especially at bedtime for some reason. I think it's a stalling tactic. She colored this Tilda with Sunflower image and made a card out of it for her grandmother. She has really gotten the hang of coloring with the copics. She's watched a lot of

tutorials and knows how to use the blender pen and everything. Lately I'm having a hard time telling which ones she colored and which ones I colored. I'm glad she has as much fun making cards as I do, it's a fun activity for the two of us to do together.

Pink and Black Tilda Card

I decided to play along with the magnolia-licious sketch challenge for this month. Here is the sketch and my card is below it.

I always seem to make my Tilda cards very pastel and soft, so I decided to try something different with this one. Pink and black are two of my favorite colors together. So, I found some pink and black paper and used my black magic core'dinations paper with the pink core for the circle accent. I embossed it with my swiss dots folder and sanded it to reveal the pink. Now for the Tilda, in real life, she does match the background paper and her shirt doesn't look so peachy colored. I colred her with my copics = R20, R22, and a litlte R24, C7 and C9 for the pants, E02, E00 and E000 for her skin and Y21 and YR23 for her hair. I matted her on a nestabilitie scalloped oval from the core'dinations and distressed it to reveal the core. I also roughed up all the edges to make the card a little shabbier. I used 3 black chipboard flowers accented with dew drops to finish the card off.

Butterfly Bling

I made this card for 2 different challenges. The first challenge was to add butterfly wings to a Tilda image that did not already have wings. The second challenge was the bling challenge on Sugar Sweet Paper Treats. I colored this adorable little Tilda with copic markers and then

accented her with my copic spica pens for a little bling factor. The frustrating thing is that I went totally crazy with the bling in the project and it just doesn't show up in the photos no matter what I tried. For the mushroom, I stamped it once on white paper, once on the striped paper and once on the polka dot paper and paper pieced it together. The striped paper is glittered cardstock, but I added some additional stickles to it as well as stickling the polka dots on the green paper. Her butterfly wings were cut from Pooh and Friends on my cricut. It was actually just half a butterfly and I cut it once and flipped it and cut it again then attached the 2 together. I added some stickles to her wings for more bling. Finally, I cut the butterfly border from Paper Pups and Hi There from beyond birthdays. Even though these were cut out of bling cardstock, I stickled on top of it to make them even blingier! I had a lot of fun with this project. I like combining my 2 favorites things- stamps and my cricut!
