Birthdya by Bildmalarna

Our current challenge on the Bildmalarna Blog is to create a project using the color scheme of red, yellow, and blue. I decided to make a birthday card using the adorable new stamp Mimosa's Birthday. I think this stamp is so cute I love how she is feeding the birthday cake to her little teddy bears.

I used paper from the Die Cuts with a View Farmer's Market stack and I colored the image with copic markers to match. One thing I did to add a little bit of dimension to the card is to go over certain parts of the image with crystal lacquer. I added it in brown to the table and benches, red to the balloon and the rose on the cake, and black for the bear's eyes and nose. I love how this product has color already in it. You can add a little bit of copic underneath for dimension and then color the rest with the crystal lacquer. I embossed the yellow cardstock with the cuttlebug birthday folder and and sanded it to bring out the embossing a little better. The sentiment I used was actually part of the summer kit from Bildmalarna (this kit was full of adorable stamps and sentiments). I went over the stitching around the edges and the words Birthday Wishes with my turquoise spica marker to add a little bit of sparkle.

We would love for to play along with us on the Bildmalarna challenge blog. To play, post a copy of your project into the inlinkz found under this post on the Bildmalarna blog.
