Just Buggin- All About Food

The current Just Buggin challenge is all about food. Well, since I have 3 family birthdays in Februay, I decided that my food challenge would be a birthday card with cupcakes. I love the look of simple cards, but when I try to make a simple one, I never like it. So, I decided to go back to the basics and only use cardstock on this project. I cut the cupcakes from Sweet Treats

and mixed up the three colors so there was a little of each color on every cupcake. I cut the sentiment from Beyond Birthdays and added a little pink ribbon at the top of the card. If you wold like to see more fabulous food projects, check the Just Buggin blog. New projects will be added each day. Add your own project in Mr Linky while you're there!

House Mouse and Friends Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and welcome to our first House Mouse and Friends Blog Hop!!! I have the honor of being the first stop this time around. This is an exciting new adventure for the Design Team and to celebrate it, Cindy the owner of Stamping Scrapping is donating the House Mouse stamp you crack me up and the jellybean scent my cards as a prize.

For our projects, we have all used the new House Mouse Love Letter stamp which is the January House Mouse stamp of the month. I have colored my cute little guy with my copic markers. I used warm greys (W3 and W5) for his fur.

I colored his little love note and the gift with RV 10 and RV 14 to coordinate with my background paper. The sentiment - Love You is also included with the stamp when you purchase the stamp of the month. I accented the lips with some pink chalk to give them a little color.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my House Mouse blog hop contribution, the next stop on the hop is the fabulous Candy. Be sure to check them all out and let us know what you think! The hop will end at the House Mouse and friends blog. Be sure to leave a comment at every blog along the way including the House Mouse blog to be entered to win the adorable You Crack Me Up stamp. You can also link your own House Mouse project to get 2 entries to win the prize. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Just Buggin- Monochromatic

Our Just Buggin challenge this week was the create a monochromatic card. This was extremely difficult for me. I love using color and lots of it, sticking to just one was like torture. I used the new Lovestruck cartridge to create this card. The hear kind of reminds me of zebra stripes a little bit I used a lighter shade of red on top of the darker red base. The word flirt also comes from Lovestruck. I dotted the I with a little red rhinestone and added some

glitter. The background is a cuttlebug folder sanded to show the lighter red core of the cardstock (coredinations was great for this project). I finished it off with a little red rose. We would love to see what monochromatic creation you can come up with, so come on over and join us. The challenge runs through Wednesday.

Mimosa with Cupcakes

Well, I just got my first order of adorable Bildmalarna stamps in, and I love them. Yes the name is hard to say, but the stamps are too cute! Cindy is now carrying these babies at stamping scrapping!!! So, we have started a blog devoted to these adorable little stamps and have a color challenge posted. The blog is www.bildyblog.blogspot.com and the challenge is to create a card using the colors brown, pink, and turquoise. Three of my favorite colors! I created my card

using Mimosa with Cupcakes. I think she is absolutely adorable they have such sweet little faces. The paper I used is all scraps I found in my huge scrap pile so I have no idea what company it is from. I colored Mimosa with my copic markers- BG 13 and BG 15 for her pants, RV 11 and RV 14 for her shirt, E 37 for her shoes and sleeves, YR 23, E33, and Y21 for her hair, and E02, E000, YR000, and R20 for her skin. The sentiment is from Just Rite stamps.

I hope you will have time to check out these cute Bildy stamps and if you have some of them already, please join us and play along with the color challenge for a chance to win a Bildy stamp of your choice from Stamping Scrapping!!!!

My First Easel Card!

Well, I finally took the plunge and made an easel card. Everyone has been making them and they look so cute, I decided to try one. I made this card for the Friday Sketchers sketch challenge. I have also entered it in the incy wincy designs challenge to use your favorite coloring medium- copics of course and the creative card crew challenge to use punches. It was actually just a regular card last night, but I converted it to an easel card this

morning. The paper is some old CTMH paper I've had in my stash forever. I'm determined to use up some scraps and make a dent in my paper stash. I also used the Martha Stewart lace doily punch, and my cricut. The key, the lock, and the sentiment come from the new cricut cartridge Sentimentals. The adorable little Tilda I used is called Dinner Tilda. I added some tiny little pearls for her necklace and bracelet. Well, now that I know easel cards are so easy, I'm sure I will be making more of them.

Pretty in Pink

We have a new sketch challenge over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers, so I decided this was the perfect time to use some of the images I received in the Magnolia Winter Kit. These images aren't available yet, but when they are Cindy will have them up and ready to order! The prize for this sketch challenge is AWESOME- it's a year's subscription to Magnolia Ink Magazine. How great is that? I have had this pack of paper forever and I thought it would be perfect for a pink

and black card. It's hard to see in the photo, but I went over the piano with liquid glass to give it a shiny look like a piano would have in real life. This fancy little Tilda is colored with my copic markers. I added some cuttlebug embossing and a spellbinders tag to hold the sentiment. The roses are from the floral department of a craft store with the stems pulled off. I added little heart brads to the center to hold them together.

Coffee KiKi

Have you heard the great news? In addition to all the other great stamps Cindy is carrying at www.stampingscrapping.com, she is also carrying CC Designs. These can be found on her original site www.stampingscrapping.com and the newer site www.stampscrapsave. I used one of the new ones I got from her to make this super adorable card.

This little sweetie is called coffee kiki. I colored her with my copic markers. I used the Basic Grey lemonade paper pack for the papers. The sentiment comes from the scent with love stamp set- java happy day! This set has several coffee sentiments that would be perfect for this image. I finished the card off with some lace, a few felt flowers, and some yummy coffee scented scent my cards.

Snow Dog

We had a blizzard here on Christmas Eve and my daughter and the dog just couldn't resist getting outside and playing in all the snow.  It turns out Dingo is a real snow dog.  The Just Buggin challenge this week is to make a project that has something to do with pets, so I figured this was a perfect time to actually make a layout using some of the pictures I took of them playing in the snow.  It's been a long time since I actually made a

layout.  I used Coredinations cardstock for my base and cut some Bazzil swiss dots paper for the reddish strip across the top.  The patterned paper I used is Basic Grey and I think it is from the fruitcake collection.  It's either fruitcake or figgy pudding.  I cut the dog from Paper Pups and added a little snow hat from Everyday Paper Dolls and covered her with some polar white flower soft to make her look like Dingo looks in the picture.  She was almost white when she came in from playing.  I cut the Snow Dog title from Don Juan and welded it together.  I substituted paw prints for the o's.  Well, it feels good to make a layout.  Even if it is only one page, picture were printed and put on paper- that's a big first step!!!!

Winter Wishes

My big winter wish is that winter would go away, but that's not really what this post is about.  This post is about a winter wishes card I made for Cindy at stampingscrapping.com.  We had to choose a winter/snow theme I was stuck on Christmas and didn't know what to do.  So, I grabbed my Jolly By Golly paper pack and found some paper that more wintery than Christmasy.

I colored my standing fall Tilda to match the colors in the paper.  I love how bright and cheery this paper is.  Also, I think this Tilda is particularly adorable.  I added some sparkly fluff flock to her scarf as well as the green heart on her jeans.  I love it when cards feel good too.  The winter wishes sentiment comes from Cindy's Scentaments stamp set. This set is full of great sentiments for every occasion.  I hope you have enjoyed my card and that all your winter wishes come true.

Valentine's Day with Tilda

This week's Just Buggin Challenge was to use a stamp on your cricut project.  Well, that is perfect for me.  Stamping and my cricut are my two favorite things.  In the words of Hannah Montana, "It's the best of both worlds".  So, here is my project.  I cut the base for the card itself from A Child's Year.  That cartridge is full of great card shapes as well as a bunch of fun images.  The paper I used is the Basic Grey Eva collection.  I've had this paper forever and not used it, I finally broke it out and it's great! I also cut the little flower in the corner from my George cartridge.  I wanted them to have dimension, so I crinkled the top one a little and sprayed it with shimmerz spritz.  For the stamps, I used this adorable new Tilda that should be available soon.  She's not out yet, but when is available, be sure to check at stampingscrapping.com for a great price!  I colored her with Copic markers and added a little bit of stickles to her wings.  The sentiment is from the label accents set from scent with love.  They are made to coordinate perfectly with the matching nestabilities which is what I used to stamp it on.  The shape behind Tilda is actually the same nestie, just a larger size.

Magnolia Stamp Lovers challenge

We are going to start posting biweekly challenges on the new Magnolia Stamp Lovers blog. It's always good to use your stamps and get ideas of what else you can do with them. I had the honor of hosting the first challenge. I picked a sketch. Here is a picture of the sketch. I felt this sketch was pretty straight forward and a good place to start. I decided to make a snowy card for my interpretation since we still have snow on the ground here. It's been over a week! I don't think we've ever had snow that has lasted this long at least not as long as I've lived here.Anyway, here is my Chilly Tilda card.

Friend Card

I got the new Pagoda cartridge for Christmas and I was dying to try it out.  I thought it would work perfectly for the current Just Buggin challenge to use the shadow or blackout feature on your die cut.

The panda, umbrella, and kanji character are all cut from the Pagoda cartridge.  I added a shadow to the panda and the character which actually means friend.  What's more friendly than a cute panda holding a pink umbrella?  I embossed the umbrella with my cuttlebug to make it look like it had a pattern on it.  I used the same embossing folder ( I think it's moroccan screen or something like that) over on the side.  I thought this green paper would go well with the panda because it reminded me of bamboo.  I finished the card off with some ribbon and of course googly eyes for the panda.  We would love to see what you can come up with for this challenge.  Head over to Just Buggin and link your project before Wednesday!!!!
